motordyne copper iso spacer installed, issues

Last night i installed my copper plenum spacer. Put the copper spacer between the throttle body and plenum, the spacer, and the lower gasket.

i did the resets, everything went smoothly

i noticed a strange idling though. when i'm at a light or something, my RPMs will drop to 100 - 200 and stay there, and then go up to maybe 300. when i'm driving, the RPMs are fine. when i stop at first, the RPMs idle normally, but they suddenly drop. I didn't touch the throttle plate. i made sure of it.

I thought i had screwed up the throttle plate and needed a idle relearn. so i took it to the dealership. well, they obviously blamed the idling on the spacer. when i started my car it was fine, i started to drive away... and this high pitched squeal started coming from my engine bay, and kept getting louder. i IMMEDIATELY went back to the dealership. the guy i talked to that had said the aftermarket spacer on both the throttle body and between the upper plenum was arguing with me, that the cause of the noise was the aftermarket additions. I told him i had videos of me driving TO the dealership without ANY squealing, and that it didn't start until after i left.

Well, he got really pissy with me and refused to get anyone to look at it. So i asked for his superior. the tech who worked on my car was brought out, and again, the spacer was blamed. He said that there was a leak in the spacer, and that it was broken. (not mentioning the throttle body spacer). i kept arguing that there was no way between the time that it SUDDENLY broke right after they looked at it. The tech walked away, and came back with a wrench and tightened the bolts on the side of the noise. Immediately it went away. obviously they messed with the damn bolts. So i thanked him and left.

So, i paid the dealership 109$ to mess with my ****, and nothing was resolved. just my raised blood pressure.

HELP

Do i need to do the reset again? Maybe i did something wrong? Should i buy the damn cable to set the idle myself? I could of paid for it already with two visits to the stupid dealership.

Here's the invoice, including the code that they said came up.

if you are 100% sure you dont have a vacuum leak, and that it's just the idle being screwy, get it going and just drive on the highway. i went like 20 miles hitting ramps along the way to stop and let it idle. the problem got progressively better and fixed itself.

mine would stall in my driveway if i didn't give it gas every time and this worked for me.

Make sure the rubber lip that surrounds the oil cap isnt wedged between the plenum and spacer...it happens all the time and causes a vacuum leak.

I suggest you start over, wait until early morning in a lit garage when it's cool and take everything apart. Inspect all parts, check to make sure nothing is damaged/clean everything and put it back togeather. Make sure that rubber gizmo around the oil filler is flat and out of the way. You know to disconnect the negative side of the battery while doing this...as per MotorDynes instructions. When you're finished reconnect it immediately. Did you put that little rubber cap back on the vacume outlet on the front of the plenum....or is it broken? G/L

There's a vacume outlet on the front of your plenum, make sure that rubber cap is on and not broken!

i think i know which one you're talking about gary, and no, its fine. not broken.

i unscrewed everything and re tightened, and it still does it. i can't hear anything from anywhere.

i drove 20 miles. but i have to take my mom to the airport, so i had to come back. i'll drive it a bit more tonight.

at start up, it's perfect. around 500-600. then just drops slowly. but it isn't a rough idle. it's still smooth. it just goes to ~200 or ~100.

i'll give it some more miles, and some more time.

if i buy the cable that is for sale on the forums, can i set the idle with that? i'm not going to the damn stealership again.
