Underhood noise after part install

Ok I have seen alot of post on various site about this type of problem, but mine is a little different question.

I installed the JWT pop-charger with the Motordyne spacer w/Iso thermal gaskets. I had no problems with either install. I put the pop-charger on a day before I installed the spacer. As I know from previous after market intake installs the intake air sound gets louder. I noticed a little whistle from the pop-charger which is normal. However the next day after the spacer/ ISO gasket install I noticed the whistle was noticeably louder and could be heard (only if you were listening for it) while driving down the road with the windows up. First thing I thought vaccum leak. So I rechecked all the bolts to specs all were good. Had my girl rev the engine to produce the sound while I sprayed carb cleaner around the TB and intake mani. Nothing! The sound was coming only from the air filter. I just wanted to know if anyone that had done these two mods noticed the whistle get louder.

As long as you dont have any leaks in the plenum, I wouldnt worry about it. Check the rubber around the oil filler cap as its a common area to get pinched between the spacer.

The spacer increases the amount of air entering the plenum so you should expect more of a whistle. If you checked thoroughly for leaks and found none, relax. The new sound is normal, enjoy the hell out of it.

Thanks guys, yeah the oil filler rubber is good. And that is what I figured would cause the increase in the whistle. I guess I am just being paranoid. Thanks for the replies. And keep on modding Blue, sounds like a good idea I hear huggies are really comfy.

Word of caution....never, ever spray carb cleaner on your engine! I'm surprised you're still around to make this thread, carb cleaner is extremely volatile/hot all it takes is one spark. You could have got the same results using WD40 looking for a vacuum leak.
