Dealers tend to replace the entire harness just for liability reasons. They've gone from troubleshooting and repair to simply finding a possible cause and throwing parts at it.

I don't see a dealer cutting and soldering into a harness. They would replace the entire harness instead. Just how dealers are.

An independent mechanic might be willing to do it. I'm one who likes to do the job right, but a good solder job witha heat shrink done by a skilled person would be an acceptable repair for me. I'd more than likely do it myself


HOWEVER, is the burned fuse link the cause of your issues, or the result of another issue?? I'd hate to spent $3K on the repair and have it occur again
