Engine stalling...

Hey guys, new to this forum and to my '04 G35. Last week the car started to shake and then would stall when at a complete stop. This only happens when the car is at normal temperature but runs fine when cold. The rpm's fluctuate like crazy after it warms up then stalls. Also have a tapping noise in the engine after the car warms up to normal temp. I am totally new to this type of car and have only had it for 3 months. Also the car started to overheat at one point but then went back to normal. Been serching the threads but havent been able to find one with my particular problem. Also can hear a rattling at start up... Any help or direction would be much appreciated. The car is automatic with 160,000 miles. The previous owner isnt sure on how well the car was maintained as it was her husbands and he is now gone... Thanks again guys.

Think it's more than one thing. Sounds like you should start with some regular maintenance/tune up stuff. 160k is a lot of miles. I'd change oil, fuel filter, air filter, clean/change the idle air control valve, clean throttle body, thermostat, water pump, belts, injectors, plugs, coil packs....

Also, are you throwing an cel?? If you are might wanna get the code and address that problem

No CEL has come on... Had a tech look at it and mentioned he found sludge on pressure switch when he removed to perform a pressure test. Test came back with psi too low... Recommends I change oil pump. Anyone have anymore input???

Ok... So i changed both camshaft position sensors, did an engine flush, changed oil and filter, changed old plugs with new NGK plugs, cleaned throttle body and car STILL sputters with low rpm's and stalls. WTF else could it be? It does hesitate to crank a bit so maybe the crankshaft position sensor??? Getting very frustrated and almost ready to throw a grenade in it... Still no CEL btw...
