Does anyone here no for sure whether or not the front license plate is drilled/screwed into the front bumper or is there a replaceable cap? I specifically ordered mine so that I would NOT have this done.....however, I may have the chance to get my coupe sooner, at a dealer further away. If they have already placed a front plate frame on, would this have damaged/ruined the front bumper cover/plate? or can it be corrected? TIA

They drill holes in the front bumper, you would need to take it to a body shop and have the bumper repainted to make it like new again.

My was drilled out. However, the dealer came up with rubber plugs. Since my G is black, you can hardly see the plugs. But I suppose, if you have a different color car, you can just paint the plugs. Actually, I find the plugs pretty cool looking. The plugs were supplied by the service manager at Infinity of Dayton (in Ohio).

 

It's my understanding that all cars are shipped without the front plate bracket installed. It's installed by the dealer during final pre-delivery prep, so even if your dealer is trading for the car from another state that requires a front plate, chances are it hasn't been installed yet.

But DanO is right, if it has been installed, they drill holes in the bumper that will require filling and/or replacement if the bracket is taken off.

How come all you peeps that don't have front plates seem to have perfect bumpers. Isn't that what that small rectangular plate in the front is for....attaching the plate frame? DOHhhhhhhhh!

Yes, the front plate is installed at the dealership, so if they have not been put on since they recived the car then chances are the bumper is still entact.

Correct - the dealer puts the front plate on. I asked the dealer ahead of time not to drill the bumper since NJ (where I bought it) requires a front plate, but PA (where I live) doesn't.

The cutout in the front bumper pops out to allow you to connect the tow hook....
