Looking to buy first pair of coilovers. :)

Hey guys,

As the title says, I am looking to buy my first pair of coilovers. Looking for any suggestions on brands etc will help. My spending limit is about a grand and don't want to go any higher then that. Any input will help, so hope to get some responses.

Thanks,
Josh

you can find a great set for a little under that price point if you don't mind buying used...check the suspension marketplace

For 1 grand, you can get the BC Racing coilovers.

However, from my experience, coils are just to stiff given the small springs on all of them.

I would just get normal springs with adjustable shocks at less then half the price.

Unless you want to "adjust your height" but that gets old pretty quick.

Don't forget camber kits and alignment costs. Do it right the 1st time.

Seems like more and more ppl are going to function/form 2's, but i love my buddy's BC racing coilovers.

My personal car has h-techs so i have zero input.

How low are you looking to go?

Don't get basics if you want to go low. Also most people sell them and end up getting something else..
BC racing are good for price, function and form II, megan, and bc racing are all pretty much the same

Tein basics don't have dampening control. Basically, Your luxury car will ride like a dune buggy.
I have bc racing BR coils ($1000 new) and they're set to full soft. Ride is very comfortable and you can go pretty dam low.

Apexi ExV N1's are the most affordable quality coilover I'd recommend, you can pick up a set new for around 1100 if you know the right person, MSRP is $1400 I think

^^I'd add the Tanabe Pro5s to that list. I wouldn't trade my coils for the world and I paid a little over $1100 for them. They blow away the BCs etc.
