In my case, I taped around the grille and covered the nearby paint with newspaper. I also taped the Mt. Fuji emblem on the grille because I wanted to leave it chrome. If you want to be extra careful, you can tape newspaper behind your grille so the PlastiDip doesn't go into your radiator (shouldn't be a problem though if you spray at an angle)

No damage at all to the wheels, I have this stuff on my rays and it looks fantastic.

so you dont need to sand it down or anything, ive heard people actually prep it like real paint and sand it down, but i dont see why you would do that with plastidip if you eventually want to peal it off lol

Nope, you don't need to sand it down. And yeah, I've heard people who sanded it down so the Plastidip stays on longer. I've had mine for about 3 months so far and it still looks like new (probably because of the clear coat)

Plasti dip actually protects what's underneath it. Summer time I got bored and I experimented with it. I painted my diffuser, mud guards, roof, and trunk. I must say it turned out nice.

I have done plasti dip on my oem 17's and on the badging. Still looking to do my grill but can't decide if I want to do the logo or leave it chrome or not. I like the plasti dip on the badging better than debadging to be honest. All of it is holding up strong so far. Do the wheels and if you don't like it peel it off.

The texture of plastidip is horrible.

Nice. If you do your wheels take a pic. Wanna see what oem 18s look like on a DG. I had my grill plasti-dipped first time. Looked good, but didn't like its matte and non-reflective, non-chromy texture (since its plastic), so I painted it legit instead and looks really glossy and nice now.

i like the texture.. and non glossy look.. the matte does have a shine to it, its just a different shine then gloss
