plasti dipped my grill
plasti dipped my grill
soo i went to proly 3 different home depots and 3 different lowes some o'rallys and ace hardwares...and was only able to find 1 can of plasti dip.. wanted to do my rims so with the one can i was able to find i did my grill.. sprayed on light coats till it was coverd and it looks pretty good!.. i think it still needs to cure more but im happy with it.. here are some pix

Just by the word "Plastic" I don't believe it would wear well on wheels. Since Plastic Dip just peels off do you really want that on your wheels....think about it? Wait a while and see how your grille looks you may change your mind, with luck!

I did the same to my grill back in March and it still looks good today. It's just a temporary solution until I get my grill professionally painted, but it has lasted a lot longer than I expected.
Im against plastic dip but I also must admit ur grill came out nice
thanks guys.. it does look nicer then i thought it would.. i still plan to do my rims just for the hell of it.. i wouldnt do it if it didnt peel off so easy.. but the hardest part is finding plasti dip in socal (riverside) i drove from riverside to moreno valey to corona and norco and every place was sold out of the spray can version..soo i might have to order some online if these stores dont get more in stock
If you want the grille to have a more "glossy" look instead of a matte black look, buy a can of clear coat and spray several light layers on the grille. Helps protect the plastidip from scratching off too. That's what I did, and it turned out great.
