so recently i've been looking for a 6mt

you probably seen my last thread anyways...
i been looking for a g35 6mt or 350z 6mt for my next car i owned a 2004 g35 coupe for 3 years already. i was going to get a black g35 6mt but it was sold the day i went to look at it. i found a 2006 350z 6mt 68kmiles (out of warranty) and had it inspected by a local nissan dealer (payed for the "99 point inspection") only thing it needed is a brake job. my main worry is oil consumption. i asked one of the workers there about it and he said that he has seen only a few come in for that. i know that an oil consumption test takes 1000 miles, i dont want to buy the car and then find out about it consuming oil. well i was thinking to myself if it had oil consumption i dont think it would of lasted 68k miles. What should i do?

If properly maintained, an engine with the OC issue will still last a while. Overhauling the engine will fix the issue.

Luis, look for a later model with less miles or even one with an extended warranty. I can see how you might feel, 68K miles and no net to catch you with that Z. Would it be worth it for you to buy a Nissan extended warranty for a year if you really like this '06 350Z? Something to consider, Good Luck hope you find what you're looking for....

today i called the dealer to ask for the built date of the 350z it was built september 2005 i have read somewhere that some 2006 models the oil consumption was not a problem depending on built date. my question is would this built date be affected with oil consumption?

i personally have the 04. If you really dont wanna deal with it just go to the 03-04 and be wry free. But its gets tricky trying to find an extremely low mileage G in those yrs GL

i did listen to your advice gary and i found a 07 350z 6mt, 36k miles. im glad i waited the only thing that im worried about is what i have read on the forums about the clutch petal sticking or not coming up all the way, what would be the fix for that if it was to happen??
