Need your adivce
Ok I have one day to decide whether i want a 6MT auto. I have always wanted a 6mt, but they say the thrill goes away after a while of driving it and that the cluthch is too touchy and not smooth. Is this true? I mean maybe thats only during the break in period am i right? The dealer even told me he'd go with the auto because he got a 6MT and quickly traded it for the AUTO. IS THIS FOOLIO lieing to me?!!? help plz and tell me what you would prefer

You are the one that has to decide. I promise you, if you sit in traffic and continually have to change gears ... the 6mt will get old. I drove Manual trannys for years in my 1-2 hour commutes ... I will not even consider a commuter car with a manual. Weekend fun car ... hell yes it is the way to go.
Now that I think about it ... If I was under 30 I would drive a stick daily ...

Thrill goes away? I don't think so. I suspect the dealer is just trying to get you to buy an auto car ASAP.
I have the 6MT, and drive occasionally in San Francisco, of all places. Compared to my old stick shift Honda, I'm driving much more "jerkily," but I suspect that's because I'm still getting used to the car, and its power.
The car has so much power and torque, though, that I don't have to shift as much as I would have to in my Honda. Even in rush hour traffic (when I'm not stopped), I can leave it in second, and just modulate the gas to the point that I don't have to shift until traffic clears. The engine is very flexible.
IF you want the 6MT, you should get it - otherwise you will always wonder... as the poster above says, think about the advantages of stick vs. auto for what that is, and don't worry about any weaknesses of the G35 6MT - because the coupe's manual transmission, alone does not have any weaknesses (at least for me).
