I recently ordered a 2005 G35C 6mt, delivery in about 3 months or so. I did not order the trunk mat , but then thought perhaps I might change that. Questions:
1. Does the mat quiet the interior noise at all?
2. Is it carpeted in the trunk without the mat?

The mat wont change any noise in the back...and yes its carpeted the same way any car would be if you removed your floor mats for your feet. Kinda empty lookin' in my opinion but since its in the trunk...it doesnt really matter unless you might make a mess moving stuff.

 

Well, for what its worth, I love mine. I can pull it out and vaccum it keeping my trunk looking as nice as my cabin.

 

My G35c came with a trunk mat, but my Z didn't. Without the math it looks really cheap to me. Also, the Z's hatchback trunk is always visible so it was a must to get one for me.

 

What are you paying for your car? Tell your dealer to give you a trunk mat for free, especially if you're paying MSRP or close. Try for some wheel locks too

 

I'm paying well under MSRP, so I'm not expecting extras. Thanks for all the replies, they have helped me decide a mat is not necessary for my needs.
