Scratch Repair Help?!
Scratch Repair Help?!
Hi,
I scratched my car on the bottom left side of the rear bumper.
It doesn't look too significant to me but its definitely not just a minor scratch.
Luckily, there's no dents.
I've attached some pictures so you have a better idea of what it looks like.
Can anyone please recommend the best solutions to get this fixed (both low-cost and high-cost options)?
Thanks.

Obviously, but he's asking for what kinds of options there are. Such as any cheap shops in his area, highly established shops in his area, DIY's, or stuff like that.
Anyway, I've heard great things about this website and would personally recommend it if you're willing to do it yourself. Guaranteed you'd save money, but whether or not it will turn out looking okay will depend on how well you do it.

So, does that mean I would just have to go to a body shop for paint? And wouldn't painting just part of the bumper be noticeable?
Will a cheap alternative of scratch remover kits or touch up pens work?
I don't mind painting it but I just don't know where to start or go to get it done.
I can't really tell but if the paint is completely gone in some areas, you'll have to get the whole thing repainted.
Either that, or you can go with a touchup paint, prep it perfectly, sand it down, and then polish the crap out of it. If it's just clear coat scratched up, just get a compound and polish it away.

Why not? if you can get a nice clean original bumper with the original paint for a good price and install it yourself. Those starches look bad don't look like it's a job that retailer can easily fix.
Replace the bumper just because of a few scratches....
....seriously? Before you put out $300 to have your bumper repainted (done right the whole bumper s/b repainted) Depending on how many and deep those scratches are I'd have the area hit with a high speed buffer and compound at your local detail shop/car wash. Depending on the results you could order touch up paint from Dr.Colorchip and finish the job yourself.

Haha saw that after I posted. I'm not here to argue with you over this. I have him an option which isn't as idiotic as u think it is. I may be new but owned cars for over 20 years. Don't know what being new to a car forum has to do with anything with the OP issue. To the OP gl hope u get your bumper fixed. Peace out I'm going to ESL class now so GaryC will not have to correct my Spanglish.
lol. Honestly, listen to Gary and your life will be simple. Getting a bumper replacement might seem simple enough, but the cost is usually not worth it when compared to simply doing a repair that involves nothing more than buffing over some starched clearcoat.
