My G is dying :(

Last night I started hearing sounds in my tranny when I step on the clutch. If my foot is off the clutch then there aren't any sounds but when I step on the clutch even just a bit it makes all types of noises, from whining, whirring and chattering. Bought the car with an after market light flywheel and clutch, I don't think I burned my clutch or anything because the car moves and all.. I'm thinking it's my throw out bearing? After I heard the noises, sometimes if I'm in neutral and if I step on the clutch it stalls only sometimes.. so I have to rev my RPM before going into gear.. Anyone know what I should expect when I have the tranny open? Thanks in advance guys! Sucks because I can't drive my G today and it's my birthday

I have a brand new throw out bearing (installed, but never used) for sale if you want it.

My car is still under warranty, will Infiniti take a look and replace whatever without pay? It does have an after market clutch and fly though that wasn't changed by an Infiniti dealer

Anyone have any insight on Infiniti's warranty if the clutch is replaced with an aftermarket one not installed by them?

OP, the dealership might be a little picky about doing a warranty with vehicles that have aftermarket parts. They can deny the claim, and use the excuse of having aftermarket parts. Anyhow, if you are under the powertrain warranty, I would try to get it fixed and see if the dealership can honor the warranty. Hope things get better and good luck...

i don't think they would warranty a clutch since its considered a wear and tear item like brakes. But you can give it a shot.

Infiniti won't honor any warranty on an aftermarket part that fails, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

On another note happy bday, but no need to be melodramatic. Your car isn't dying, it's just a little sick and can be fixed right up.

I thought you were the one bragging about illegally drifting the G all the time if so that explains your clutch problems. Also the drive train IE clutch is not covered under warranty especially if you have changed the clutch. The reason the stock clutch is not cover is because the driver can burn out the clutch and make the dealer cover the cost. The throwout bearing is a different story.

you didn't wreck the car again, did you? are you SURE everything was fixed up proper the first time around? Anyways, Beshoff's your best bet for dealers.

Already brought my car to my father's shop and had it open up. Looks like I need to replace my throw out bearing and clutch. Anyone got a clutch recommendation? All 6MT from 03-07 should be the same even on the 06 sport with LSD right?
