Can anyone tell if a tire is good or bad from pictures?
Hello,
I am about to purchase used set of winter tires.
I am thinking of buying them used since the owner told me that they have only 1500kms on them.
can anyone tell me what they think from the pictures below.
Thank you all in advance

From the small pictures you posted, they look fine to me.
Perhaps a large resolution image may yield you better and more accurate feedback from myself and other members.

what should i look at in particular? i don't know much about tires at all actually any help would be appreciated
I don't know where your located at but I know for most canadian winter tires there is a tread wear indicator that shows the number of 32nds that remain. For example the tire here has 6/32nds remaining of winter tread.

Hi, i am in Ottawa, so i am going to look for a number on the tire? just like the 6 there in the middle?
thank you for the info and these are LM-60
Ya there should be a row of three numbers if the tires still have lots of tread. There is originally an 8,6,4 but I don't know if Blizzak has them or not. And ya like DG_coupe said, just look for uneven tread wear and also the year of the tires. I highly doubt these tires would have been produced more than 8 years ago but you can check the DOT number. There will be a 4 digit number, the first 2 digits tell you the week they were manufactured and the next two tell you the year. For example DOT 1808 would be the 18th week of 2008 so that would be in April of 2008.

They look good from the pics but look for any cracking on the sidewalls from age and also look for uneven wear as mentioned. Since the tires are off, it will be easy to check for any tire patches or repairs on the inside.
i cant believe there is even a winter tire for 19 inch wheels lol. i am considering these since my car now can make it thru a snow flurry... Can anyone provide feedback on the capability in say an inch or two of snow on the stock 19's?
