Hi I want to take off my spoiler.

Some girl said that it was trying too hard too look sporty.
Questions:
1. How do you do it?
2. Will it leave 4 holes on top?
3. How do you cover them?
4. Does it make opening/closing the trunk difficult? Also since your hands on top of the trunk trying to pull it up and close it down, doesn't it make the car dirty, as opposed to having the little spoiler as a handle.
Well here is a picture. Not sure if it helps or not.

Don't let "some girl" tell you what to do with your car.
You can do it by removing the inner lining of the trunk lid, and removing the bolts and tabs holding it stable. Not sure of how many nor their location.
Yes, it will leave holes; not sure about four, but it will look like a mess.
Cover them by having professionals mold over them.
The trunk dampers/hydrolics will probably move the trunk up easier with less weight. To open, just put your finger under your trunk... And try to wipe your hands after the cheetoh's.

Honestly, an OEM spoiler can't "try too hard". If it's that way from the manufacturer, then it's not trying anything. Maybe if it looked like an Evolution or STi spoiler, sure, but the OEM G spoiler is subtle.

1, 2, 3: You can take the spoiler off and plug the holes with little plastic caps like some of the EVO guys do, you can have a bodyshop fill in the holes and repaint it, preferably by welding in metal rather than a filler like bondo or fiberglass, or you can look for a spoilerless trunk to trade with, or probably even look for one from a pick and pull.

4: No

If I recall correctly, the holes are huge... and it will be a mess on your trunk lid... Likely to be rusty areas and, since your car is over 7 years old, might be even uglier than I imagine.

Maybe not. Good luck~

Better off leaving it, and you should have a handle inside the trunk lid to pull it closed, no need to touch the outside.

A body shop quoted me 267 to just prep and paint the holes. Not even fill it. I want to take my spoiler off too.

Also isn't it good to have a spoiler? Something about aerodynamics. I don't wanna be like cruising on the freeway hella fast and lose control because of no spoiler.
