tire help

will 255/35/19 work on 19in rays for the rears ??

alight koo. since there wider i should get better traction right ? thats what the guy at discount tire told me just want to make sure before i spend all this money on tires . ihave 245/40/19 right now

The contact patch on the 255 will be 10mm wider than the 245's.

You'd be better off going 255/40 since the front is still probably the 225/45

225/40 on the 19's in front. And I agree tho.

If you're going to 35 profile, go 265 or 275.

A wider tire can give you a wider contact patch but it can also introduce more sidewall flex which can have a negative effect on handling. So wider isn't necessarily better if handling is the primary issue.

Completely agree. I just went 275 on Kumho's from 245 Nankangs, and the issue wasn't the width where traction was concerned, it was the tire brand.

If I had to do it over, I'm not 100% sure I'd still go 275. But I am enjoying the more robust look of the car from the rear, to be honest.
