Which would you do ?

I'd say go with the clear, unless you trying to black out the car

Black would look nice as long as it doesn't fade the light. A weak amber would look pretty lame.

I painted mine black and took out the bulbs. No need for them IMO

Clear without an amber bulb would be already risking it, black is just asking for it.
