You haven't really described what the real issue is or how it even sounds. Get a clip. But until then make sure all the bolts are tightened and all the gaskets are good. If you overall just don't like the sound then you can try the magnaflow resonated x-pipe, but you might be just SOL

I'm not sure what it is, but a lot of people with the HKS knock off have varying sounds to it. Some have a really strange "hollow" idle, some are TERRIBLY raspy, and some are decent.

Make sure you have ZERO leaks in your exhaust. Remember, it's a knock off. Fitment in comparison to the car isn't that great, that means fitment between the flanges probably aren't 100%.

I got around to fixing a leak using some copper silicon and it sounds a little bit less raspy with my test pipes. So I'd suggest you quadruple check over your exhaust.

fitmen was terrific because the previous owner made adjustments to it. now as far as the sound goes....

imagine a civic si on these exhaust and sounds like a gigantic fly is just zooming by.
it rattles. it drones. its ridiculously loud if i were to rate the exhaust from 1-10 id rate it -10

video clips would be really helpful, or at least find a clip on youtube that it sounds like. does it sound like the x02 clips on youtube at all? some amount of drone is normal and can be removed with the addition of a magnaflow resonated x-pipe. loudness can also be helped a bit with the x-pipe. there shouldn't be any type of rattle, that sounds like something is wrong with either the install or something is loose/broken.

So you're saying a 98 Cobra sounds like a Civic SI? The fail is strong in you young padawan.

No gaskets...how's that even possible? And then you make a thread about how bad your knock off exhaust system sounds. I'm continually amazed by the total lack of common sense within our community!

Don't judge us all based on one kid.

Even I know you need gaskets, and I can't even change my oil.
