driver door won't lock/unlock

I know that it's probably a bad actuator since it moves a bit but doesn't really engage. But i realized when i lock with remote it beeps once and when I unlock there is no beeps at all. lights flash but no beep and still won't luck or unlock. any ideas before i strip the door to replace the actuator.

I don't think it beeps when you unlock anyways, only when you lock it.

^^ like mentioned above only beeps and flashes when you lock it. I had the issue where my passenger wouldn't lock or unlock....it rarely would work. Weather changed and its been working ever since.

Same issue. Cold weather seems to have fixed it. And Gs at least 03's dont honk when unlocked only flash. I'm willing to bet its the door lock actuator

Exclamation door lock won't lock - problem sovled :)

I had the same problem on my driver's side. The infiniti dealer wanted to charge me over $420 and a local auto repair shop wanted to charge me $350 to replace the actuator.

I've tried contacting pythonjosh but had no response. Luckily, I found a reputable alarm/tint shop in Alhambra,CA that fixed it for me. The owner was really cool and he knew exactly what the problem was when I called him. He replaced it with an aftermarket doorlock actuator for me for only $60 WITH warranty! - problem solved!

Can you let me know what shop this is? I have the same problem, and unfortunately, I suck at DIY things.. lol.

Haha I suck at DIYs too! The place s called "G5 Tint Shop & Window Covers" in Alhambra. You can YELP it (they got perfect reviews). Ask for Ricky, he's the owner and the one that hooked me up.I got my alarm and window tint there too... had no idea that they also installed aftermarket actuators (626)282-0010

Hehe I'd HATE to run up to my car with my hands full while trying to unlock the door manually with the keys when its dark and raining. Unfortunately, cold weather didn't fix my door
