I'm looking at an 03 G35 Sedan. New tires, brakes, suspension. Regular oil changes.
It was a company car, always had repairs done.
No body damage. I've seen the car, it's in beautiful condition.
I have done repairs on my past 2 cars, both VW's.
Just wondering what members on here think about buying it.

I have other lower mileage options, but I'd like to experience A RWD car with some power.

I drove a company car for 2 years and all the maintenance was done on time but Ill be honest I never was easy on it lol.I use to run the crap out of it and never treated it like my own personal cars.
Personally IMO I would stay away from ex rental and company cars.

As an answer to your thread heading, Yes that is a bit of a high mileage vehicle. I personally knew a few people that have company cars and they did abuse them. Although, it is completely up to you if this G Sedan is what you want. Just get it inspected
by a shop before you do decide to buy it, and try to bargain with the price as well. GL...

If it was well cared for and maintained well I don't think there would be a problem. A few cars on here have 200+.

I would try to see if you could get it for 4500 or something but seems pretty solid.

$5,300? Holy crap thats low, and the km's aren't too bad either. I paid 10K and mine had over 200,000 km's. DOET

1) I would pull all the plugs. Check em all.... See if its oily, sooty or super white. It will tell you how this car was running. Rich, Lean or motor that is about to crap itself.

2) Listen closely for ticking throughout the motor. Just to make sure there are no internals on the way out. Bent valves or blown pistons...

3) You can also check for missing snap rivets around the car to see if panels were ever removed. Removing panels tells me at one point the car was in a fender bender especially if it wasn't reporting. Some dope body guys forget to replace em. Make sure there is no paint mismatching or signs of overspray. Minor accident that go unreported are still accidents and depending who did the work will raise questions.

4) Check and make sure the car fills all the way to F.

5) Check all the fluid levels make sure they are topped off.

6) Tire tread life and brake pad thickness

7) Also have someone warm up the car and step on the gas while you stand behind the exhaust. See if its spitting smoke. Might even be worth your while to have someone drive it while you view from afar to make sure it isnt spitting out black or white smoke while pushing higher RPMs.

8) Obvioulsy SES lights or other alarm lights should be looked upon. I would even ask to run down to an Autozone and have them run a free computer diag to make sure there are no codes. Just incase the dash was "effed" with.

9)Check the air filter to see if it looks clean. Clean filter means he at least gave a crap...

10) Check the quality of the serpentine belt.

11) Finally let the car run and have someone step on the gas while you look underneath to make sure it isnt pissing any fluids. Good time to to put your ear under the hood to see if there are strange sounds that may trigger your attention

For me i can never again buy a car w/ that many miles on it again. That price is unbeatable. Also company car, I was in the military and when we had rentals and overs, i can tell you we didn't drive like angles.

not an bad price but i would have him bring downt the price even more an take it to a shop first thats just me
