What's up with our dashboard lens (lens covering the speedo and stuff). Mine is all smudgy, dull and crappy. I have to assume its cheap plastic. I can't get it clear with windex. I'm afraid to use any other chemical without clearing it with you guys. Don't want to make it worse.I looked at other G35 dashes and see the same crap. Dude, its messing with my mojo.
Should I use that new stuff they use to remove the cloudiness on headlight lenses....

I used windex on the ac display and it was smudgy. Went over it with armor all and looks much better

wouldnt suggest windex. it contains some sort of alcohol, makes it worse.
the best is just plain water

Clean it with water then you can use polish & wax or just wax and it will shine up

Using the headlamp lens restoring products is probably not a bad idea...but you'd HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO remove it from the cluster first. That stuff is really just a mild abrasive that removes the yellowed and scratched headlamp lens material. It works well, I've found...but even doing headlamps with it, you're much better off if you completely remove the headlamp assembly from the car, first...and then buff the front of the lens assembly on a large cotton buffing wheel with the 3M abrasive compound.
Windex wont' remove scratches. Sounds like someone gave it a good scrubbing with a paper towel. Never a good idea on soft plastic.

use a light polish or plastx. Use a microfiber to apply/remove. Tape edges to prevent forcing product in cracks.

Like someone mentioned, glass cleaner is too abrasive. Use a lens cleaner, and a good microfiber cloth. I use a small spray bottle for glasses and the microfiber for glasses as well. I try to use this for all the screens on the interior.

Can anyone post a DIY or a link for removing those plastic lenses. Don't want to scratch my dash. It's really annoying and makes my interior look ugly

I'll praise the man who has a pair of Christmas Ornament Ballz to do a DIY on this. Like the dude before me said. Originally Posted by manvelmk

i have an 04 coupe and did the center display with meguiars headlight polish. just use a microfiber cloth and tape around the edges. didn't use any power tools for this one

I usually clean mine with a brand new microfiber towel and have waxed it once or twice using Meguiars NXT tech wax.
