G35 Coupe backup camera

I almost backed up into a car a few times this weekend and i just realize that I have been using my side mirrors to do parking.. Since the back seats almost completely cover our rear view, I think it's time for me to install a backup camera.

Question is, what's the best module for our cars? I have a fully load 06 G coupe with navi

Please let me know what you have or my choices out there.
My buddy installed his 2 years ago with the link below. I figure there might be something better or newer now?

Amazon Amazon

Thx!

I hear ya..... our cars do suck pretty bad to back up in.. especially at night when it's dark out and you can't really see much to begin with. I usually just try to put myself in a position where I don't have to back up into potentially treacherous situations in close quarters by selectively choosing safer parking situations.

A buddy of mine was telling me just the other day about some backup camera unit that you put over your license plate and it basically acts like a license plate frame/rear-view camera, and it communicates wirelessly with a small screen that affixes to your rear-view mirror. I know nothing about it personally, but he said he'd seen it in action before on a friends car and thought it was pretty cool.

I have a camera that mounts to the top two bolts on the license plate. Got it off ebay for about $25, works great. I also have an aftermarket HU to play it through though....not sure how/if you could get it to run through the stock setup.

Got it off eBay. Here's a link to a current auction from the seller I purchased it from. First one I received wasn't working correctly out of the box, the seller was quick to send me a replacement and didn't even require me to return the bad one. I figured for the price, it was worth the risk....works great, no complaints thus far. I looked at a bunch of different kinds and liked the way this one mounted....didn't have to custom fabricate or ghetto rig a mount or anything for it and didn't require me to do any permenant modification to my car. I think he also sells the came camera along with a seperate monitor to mount somewhere on your dash if you don't have an aftermarket HU to play it through.

Poking around, it looks like that PAC audio video module (VCI-X) is still the best option. Check the 'technical docs' of the website for wiring specific to the 2006 G http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=34

...now you got me interested in this

I think theres a KPtec module to see video on the factory nav. (tvNAVtogo) i think..that has a AUX option. Most aftermarket reverse cameras just have one RCA video plug and that can be plugged in to that AUX. And obviously it needs 12v. just my 2
