LOL...

***UPDATE 12/27/04***

SoCal Dealers are expecting thier cars to come after the first weekend in January. Keep your eyes out. The following words are from a Dealer and not my or my friend...

DEALER: "People with deposits have nothing going for them right now. Just because they have a deposit, it DOES NOT mean that they will get thier cars first, they MAY, but it's not guaranteed since by law we CANNOT contract any car we do not have just yet. By law we can sign over a new owner of a vehicle 3 to 5 days before the actual arrival. And you do know you will be paying full sticker right? There is no negotiation."

Basically NO car is legally sold/contracted yet.

So my question is to people with deposits....did they guarantee you a car?

Basically a few days before arrival, they call people and show them the VIN/paper work etc... So for people with VINs...that does not mean its YOUR VIN. I'd call your local dealer to make sure that IT DOES GUARANTEE your car. The last thing I'd hate to see is some one think that they have a car, take thier time getting to the dealer and finding out its been sold

There is some shady crap goin on cause I hear ppl already have a designated car for them...and the dealer is basically telling me (in diff words ofcourse) its first come first serve reagrdless.

First rule of thumb, its always good and safe to get documents that you are intitled to the car after you place the deposit. But then again, sometimes this isn't possible, just really depends on your dealership. As for the deposit, if you place money on it, then that is consider a down payment on your car, so in turn, the dealership cannot turn around and sell it to someone else unless they have your permission. The dealership of course wants the most money they can get from a car, so people that are willing to spend MSRP, of course they are going to want to sell to them first. I heard in California, it is by law that a dealership has to give a full refund for the a deposit. It is up to the dealership if they are willing to accept that deposit or not to begin with. Of course there are some shady dealerships out there, and I don't know if there are any laws aganist doing so foul practices.

Anyways!!!!...NICE 6MT pics!!!..weeeeehhhhhhhhh...man..that looks nice, don't feeling the STONE though, I wanna see some black interiors...=) As for me, I got my VIN# from my dealership today, she (sales manager) said that my car will be here during the 2nd week of JAN, around the 10th til 14th. I'm thinking that its going to come earlier, because their AUTO showed up a few weeks earlier then estimated. Just cannot wait!!!!..good times coming soon.

Thumbs up

Ok, I've been following this thread since inception. I have not replied earlier since I wanted more information rather than adding speculative responses. Today Grubbs received 2 trucks of automobiles, privately shipped from LA on their own dime. They asked we not divulge this info on the net. Why? So they can ship them out to customers, like me, earlier and because other dealerships were NOT doing this. Also they did NOT pass the cost on to the buyers. How do I know this? Because my cost with VPP for an '05 Coupe 6MT DG/Stone/Prem/Nav/Aero 4 piece with chin spoiler/Splash/Trunk mat is $2xx.00 over invoice with free shipping delivered to my front doorstep in No CA. My car has an order date of 10/7/04 and is one of the first delivered from Japan. The price was agreed upon on 12/2/04 and this price has not changed even with the private shipping from LA to TX.
Today Grubbs posted an interior picture of the G35 6MT seen above and on Freshalloy so the secret is out and the proof is in the picture. As far as I know that actually may be MY CAR. The paperwork was FedEx shipped to me today. Tomorrow I get it and they get it back on Wednesday. That's when the car goes out on truck to me. If all goes well, in about 10 days when the truck arrives with my 6MT coupe on it I'll be posting pictures of it in front of my house. That will be around Jan 8, 2005. Wish me luck. Theoretically, if someone lived within 1-2 days within truck shipment of Grubbs or if they picked it up from Grubbs directly they could get it before the New Year.

im so excited, im in the same boat as hensta. yes my paper work was mailed out today and i get it tomorrow. i get the vpp price which is $2xx or so above invoice, and no grubbs did not charge us any extra for there private shipping and there was no charge to ship the car to me. so excited. they ship it on wednesday, i might get it before hensta cuz i live in illinois so yay! but yea the wait is really getting harder now
hopefully all paper work goes smooth and i get my car early mid next week woo! black on black with nav

and for Gee Im Fast, will you admit that cars are already at grubbs, and grubbs is probably amazing because of all they do for there customers. trust in grubbs!
