BMW 540 - a tough act to follow! I never thought I could like a car without a V8, but so far the G seems to have plenty of power. I'm still in the break in period.
Impressions so far are that the G has a pure sports car feel in all respects. The BMW 540 is much quieter inside, has gobs of V8 power, roars when you get on it, and I never worry about losing a drag race. But it's still a sedan, not a pure sports car.
So, I am looking forward to driving the G "sports car" for the next few years.

I would be curious how other BMW owners compare their cars to the G?

 

Thank you for the compliments, It will be hard to see it go if it comes to that, it's been my baby for 10 years. But I need more seats. In a perfect world, I'd keep it in the garage and get the G to drive daily. Oh well . BTW, I like your mechanic idea, wonder if my wife will go for it, hmmmm.

Currently driving 93 RX-7 TT. Very seriously considering selling the RX for a G-35 coupe.

 

Nuts, no, just need more space. I know what I am driving, and I am quite reluctant to give it up. Then again I have been lurking here for a while and It seems EVERY G owner loves their car. Now if I could only drive one. I went by my local Infinity dealer and tried to look at one, maybe even drive one. HAHAHA, there was only one on the lot owned by someone working at the dealership and they wouldn't even unlock the doors for me to look inside. I was impressed by the Infinity dealership experience. Ok, ok less than impressed is actually more accurate. I'l try another dealer this weekend. Hopefully they'll be more helpful.

I love the RX-7, I drove one once and I haven't seen a car with such a well laid out instrument gauges and love the chrome rings that surround each one of the gauges.[img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] The only thing that scares me about the RX-7 is the rotary engine which needs special care to maintain them, but I still love the whoooosh sound that it makes when accelerating under full throttle.
