Brake Job

quick question about brakes.

Are this brakes standard to replace? basically Standard Caliper... or are this like the BMW's where u need a special tool to open the Caliper?

I've done my brakes on all my cars... from an 95 Altima, 04 Mustang, 07 Camry...

I have the 03 coupe non brembo...

It's straight forward to work on them.

One of the easiest brakes to work on IMHO. If you're just changing pads, remove one slider pin, loosen the other, rotate the cage of the caliper out of the way, and replace the pads. Shouldn't take you more than 30-45 minutes and that includes jacking up the car and removing the wheels.

Just stay with stock pads from the dealer which are mainly organic compounds. They may tend to be a little dustier, but organic pads are always quiet.

Would also recommend turning the rotors when changing pads too. New pads on a clean rotor surface is the correct way to go. Dealers usually charge way more than shops, but i wait for any 20% service specials every so often.
