Key and FOB got STOLEN
So I had 2 sets of keys and 2 remotes. 1 set got stolen( check this thread https://g35driver.com/forums/souther...ot-stolen.html ) but I still have the other set.
My question is, the thieves have this key and remote, along with my address (on the registration in the car) what do I need to do so they can't take my G35 too, I would be heartbroken if they did!!!

OK i'm going to the dealer right now, hopefully they can make me new keys/remotes and make sure my old ones dont work anymore. I made sure not to bring lube either because I know they will charge me a lot
just have them re-program your remote, they might get your door open with the key, but they won't start it, because once you reprogram your car remote, the others not present at that time, will stop working
You don't want those clowns getting into your car either...so I would get the fob reprogrammed and a new key cut and programmed. And since you are going to the dealership for key reprogramming, be prepared and definitely BRING the lube as they are going to charge around 260 plus tax just for the key itself, the cutting of the key, and programming of it. The same key you can get for 19.99 online without the inifinti logo on it is about 140.00 from the dealership, and they won't program a non oem key for you. Cutting is around 30, and the programming is approximately 100. (for 1-4 keys, it's just a flat rate). I know all this cause I just went through a mad fiasco when my only key stopped working. I actually ended up using a mobile locksmith who cut a generic key at his shop using my VIN then came out to the parking lot of the dealership and programmed the transponder. But he was just making a key using the same programming, not sure if he can change the program on the transponder. Hit me up if you have any questions I will try to help to the best of my knowledge, and sorry to hear about the Civic.
I just thought about it and the key is going to go into the door lock regardless, as the only thing different about your new key will be the transponder programming for bypassing the immobilizer. I would assume the door will still open w/ the stolen key, regardless of whether or not you reprogram the key. Not really sure what to do in this case, I would say new locks for both sides of the door and a new key cylinder but that could be crazy money.

Get one of the keyhole covers and maybe they will be stupid enough to think the car has no door cylinders.

Depending on how much the dealer wants to reprogram etc... you should be able to get an Osirus license from a tuner for like 300 bucks (as long as they dont dyno tune). Run a stock tune but have them do a no start map. Whenever you park the car, switch it to the no start map. This way you also have Osirus and can get it dyno tuned for more power once you mod the car.

you could always get a rekey set if you're worried about them getting in the car however that is $450, comes with the Ignition Cylinder, both Door Locks, and Trunk Lock, as for the reprogramming, I am not the tech, but if you just clear the programming, and reprogram the remote you have, the other should cease to function.... I will try to verify with my techs that information however
Hummmm..... your pretty much local. So i would go to oc infiniti and talk to rick in getting a 2nd key+fob so you have 2 of them and while your there you can get it all reprogram there. It might be cheaper since he does help out the G community. But you should get that done today.

thanks everyone for the responses. I'm getting a new key cylinder for the driverside door, and my old key and fob reprogrammed, its currently at the dealer right now getting done
I'm going to be left with 2 different keys though (1 new one for the door and the old reprogrammed one for the ignition), but the key and fob that the thieves have won't work anymore, they won't be able to get through the door, and even if they do, they can't start the car... changing out the ignition key cylinder is out of my pocket range right now.
I'm also going to take your guys' suggestion and get the keyhole cover, it looks cleaner too!
