Hey guys and gals,

Im having a fairly odd issue in regards to my interior dash lights (instrument gauges, buttons for climate control and the dash temp display area). When the light switch is set to auto or on the headlights and tail lights turn on and work fine, however the gauge lights stay off. What really baffles me is that when I set the switch to the off position all the lights come on fine . Also, with the switch set to on or auto, when the car is started or ignition set to the on position all the warning lights light up briefly as they should. This is driving me nuts when driving at night Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Just to eliminate the obvious, have you tried adjusting your dimmer switch? It sounds like it's set low. When the lights are turned on, the instrument panel lights will adjust to whatever level the switch is set to. When the lights are turned off, the instrument panel lights will go full bright, because the car assumes it's daylight since the lights aren't on.
