Most annoying rattle?

Just a couple of days ago my 04 coupe started to rattle in the back passenger side. Friends tell me it is coming from inside the c-pillar. It annoys the sh*t out of me. Anybody else have this problem?

My windows also rattle if I open them and they aren't all the way down. If you have rattles, which is the most annoying one, any fix?

Passenger back seat small window rattles for me (i'd love to find a fix for that) and my rear view homelink mirror rattles. I think there's a fix on here for the mirror i just haven't had time to take it apart. This was mostly just noticeable after installing the 10" JL sub.

drivers side B pillar over by the seatbelt.. I'm guessing something is loose inside there, I have to open it up, tighten everything and put some dynamat in there.

I have what I thought was the rear parcel shelf rattle, now im not so sure. I took apart the whole rear parcel area and put foam tape in between anything that might possibly rattle or tap. I still have the noise. Im thinking now it may be coming from the passenger rear c-pillar as well. Anybody fix this? What had to be snugged down? I think that panel just has retaining clips holding it on, but I havent removed it yet.

I have a rattle from the rear shelf as well but I believe it is somewhere by the sub. I always have the music pretty loud and it gets dang annoying.

Investigate this option, It took me a long time to isolate and resolved the issue initially, I've seen more and more posts that sound similar to my issue lately. Perhaps this is something that fails over time, might be worth a sticky if it helps anyone out.

I love that noise. It means your speakers hitting hard.

yeah mine only happens with the movement of the sub. Not when driving without the stereo. And it has to be fairly loud

Yeah I tried to isolate this rattle too by stuffing rags in between crevices to snug up interior pieces. I have taken the rear interior apart twice so far putting foam tape between panels.. I read somewhere about a dealer stopping a rattle near rear parcel by putting epoxy on a metal panel (could this be the panel, the one Junon circled in red)? hmm. I think Im going to try what Junon did and see if this is my elusive rattle.. I will update this thread with the results. Thanks Junon for the find.

no problem, I have a second rattle developing now, I'm willing to bet same part, other side of car. Any clue as to what sort of epoxy I could buy to squirt in there? I'd like to avoid peeling apart the metal as I did the first time around.

Im sure any 2 part epoxy would be fine like jb weld. It should state the surfaces it bonds. Are the panels covering that rear area easy to remove? Just pop em off with a trim tool?

theyre pretty easy, the only pain in the butt might be that you may need to remove the lower side trims panels first to remove the panel hiding the trouble area. It may be possible to do it without going to such lengths and by reaching behind the rear panel once its loose, sometime next week I plan to attempt a little upkeep repair without ripping the whole car apart.

Well I posted the results of my rear parcel/ panel tear down on another rattle related thread and thought I would update this one as well. I had the seats out, rear side panels removed, rear c-pillars removed, and rear deck removed. I first started with the spot welds on the seat back panels Junon cited on the above post- (epoxy'd) noise still there. Then I tapped panel by panel looking for noise/rattles. I ended up wrapping the seatbelt mechanism in dynomat to rule that out. Then I put either epoxy or silicone glue bonding any sheet metal panels where they are spot welded to rule that out. With the rear deck out I checked and it was already felted/foamed. I test drove with all panels removed and the noise is still there (trunk panels & spare equip. out also). It leads me to believe the noise is coming from the hollow area above the wheel well/ behind and to the left of the rear deck. I stuffed some additional foam and rags in this area and put it all back together. The noise is muffled but is still there. So I have given up for now with it but would love any insight to what to look for. I checked the shock mount bolts also. Im guessing a hidden spot weld or tapping metal somewhere in that hollow area?? I do drive/ track the car hard so Im sure the chassis was flexed at some point loosening something. Thanks for reading.

As for rattling in my G coupe if the thing that raises and lowers the passenger seat belt (for when people get in the back seat) if I leave it up with no passenger it rattles, put it down and im fine.

Hopefully you guys know what im talking about
