Stupid stock HU

Okay, I have a few questions. (04 G35 Coupe 6MT)

My stock HU (6 disc changer) skips while playing CDs when its cold. It's driving me up the wall. Aside from that, I have a TON of rattles in this car, but I've installed and after-market speaker system. I fear that they won't cover ANY of it under warranty due to the after market equipment. Do you guys have any advice?

Rattles:
Passenger side (above rear window)
Driver side (behind the "card holder" on the roof liner)
Mirror AND sheath for mirror wires
Inside the center console (sounds like a metallic ringing near the shift)
Mirror on sun visor driver side
Inside dash near clock
Passenger seat???

Unfortunately, I didn't think to get these rattles taken care of before I had the after market equipment installed, but almost all of them were there BEFORE that equip was put in. Any ideas?

-Chris

I have the 350Z with the 6 disc changer, and the same thing happens to me. In fact, the owners manual actually alerts you to this 'problem.' I've heard of people getting theirs replaced only if it doesn't play or the sound system is fluctuating among the speakers.

Most people just end up buying a brand new aftermarket HU. I think Bose is getting pressure from the manufacturer for these issues.

If it happens one more time, I'm going give Bose AND Infiniti a piece of my size thirteen boot to the head. I'm well aware that this is a pre-existing issue. If they try to give me the "after market equipment" crap....

Well most cd players are going to have issues when in the cold because the dampening device is filled with oil and as the temp. drops the oil gets thicker which lessens the dampening. So when you hit a slight bump it will skip. Another cause could be that the laser pick up is getting condensation on it which happens in winter time too.

As for the rattles use sound deadening. (ie. dynamat)

I had a Kenwood single player in another Z, and it never skipped. Maybe I was lucky...

Do you also have the Bose changer? If so, theres nothing but problems with the POS... I still have problems with it cutting out, and had it skip on rare occasions... I want to rip it out, and throw it through the dealers window haha...

Now that's something I'd pay to see...

It's very frustrating to think a $30k+ sportscar has stereo problems. I don't like Blose, never liked them. Just getting a new HU makes a huge difference in the sound quality, even if you keep the stock speakers.

I'm more concerned about the car's performance than the stereo at the moment.

BTW since so many people are having doccumented problems, is there anything we can do? Like make a petition or all of us file a complaint?

You have to realize that while many of the enthusiasts (agree) that the sound system is complete sh*t, we only represent a tiny portion of the G35's out there. I mean go and observe the number of G35s you see and observe how many actually give a damn.

Its not about being an enthusiast... If you pay over $30k for a car, you expect the sound system to work... Mine will constantly freeze, skip and the left side speakers always cutout... I just think Infiniti/Bose need to realize this is a problem... I have had the audio stuff replaced over 3 times! If this were a Kia, I would understand... My Corolla's stock audio system had less problems! And when i did, Toyota replaced stuff in an hour or so... Not keep the car for 3 days and still be unable to change a frickin amp...

[rant]I guess you missed my earlier posts, I am not referring to sound quality in the G... But rather the ****ty *** bose system that never works and gay dealer cant fix[/rant] haha
