Did anyone install the exhaust muffler on their G ?

Hi everyone,

I have a question about the 4" exhaust muffler.

What is it for ?

Because I see a lot of them online with pretty fancy looking compared with the stock one and it does not cost much.

But I do not know what is it for and if it is hard to put it on for g35 coupe.

Sorry, I know it might sound silly to some of you, but I just do not know what is it for.

By 4" muffler does that refer to the outlet, or is it that size in and out? Members change mufflers to look for a better sound but most of the restriction is in the OE cats. Replacing them with either MotorDynes ART-pipes or HFCs will release considerable RWHP. I know that's more information than you needed...

IIRC the Cats are the most restrictive thing on our exhaust system. Along side a plenum spacer, it's actually one of the only other parts that gives you a decent gain. That means replacing your stock cats with test pipes or High Flow Cats
