I know this is like 4 years old, but the same thing happens to me if I shift fast. When shifting from 4th to 5rh fast kinda like straight across at an angle it will grind a little. Then sometimes when downshifting into 5th, it will also. If I shift from 4th then neutral then 5th a little slower, it is fine. Idk what is it but it doesn't seem too serious.

Is your car also red?

When was the last time you changed your tranny fluid?

No my car is black. I haven't changed it since I bought it (about a month a go). The guy I bought it from just changed all of the fluids recently.

1) Syncros may be going out
2) Clutch may be going out
3) you suck at manual shifting

Maybe ask him what type of fluid he put in the tranny. Our trannies are finicky and work best with OEM Nissan MTF. I'd start by putting that in if not already and make sure it's filled to spec. You could even do a slight overfill by parking the side of the car with the filler hole on top of a slightly raised surface and adding a bit more fluid than it took to fill it while it was on flat ground.

OK thanks! I'll see if that works.
