Hello, my name is Larissa, i am a 22 year old female from Canada.

I am currently CARLESS. Thats right. I dont have a G35.... YET. But i am looking at one, and there is a very good chance i will be buying one. Right now i have a 2005 Grand Am SE... Love my car had her for 6 years, but i crashed about a month ago and shes been written off. I wanted a powerful sport sedan and i am stuck between buying a G35 or another Grand Am.

I am looking at a silver 2005 Infiniti G35, AWD, leather, sunroof etc etc. Its got 40 000 kms.

So my dilema right now, is... Do i put myself in some debt to own a good.. potentially RELIABLE vehicle that is fun to drive?

I can replace my grand am with another one, but in the end its another domestic grand am that holds no value.

Can you tell me the PROS and CONS of 2005 Infiniti G35? What are major repairs i can look forward to, what do you enjoy most about yours? What do you friends say about your rides?

I want to be proud of my car, so i am hoping you guys can give me some reassurance that this is a good idea. ALSO, i am part of a grand am owners club, is this club awesome too? I like to be involved, posting pictures talking etc.

Larissa, our Infiniti G35s are a quality ride when compared to anything GM makes. Trust me when I tell you if you buy this '05 coupe you'll never be sorry and always glad to announce you drive an Infiniti G35! There's so much information here on DRIVER by doing a simple SEARCH you'll never need to ask questions...they're all been answered. Posting pic and discussing our rides is always fun, that why we have garages...check mine out.

do all the scheduled maintenance, get snow tires and you will be fine. Watch for the rusty areas around the upper part of the door frames. Unfortunately the one thing I think import car makers lack of rustproofing countermeasures.

 

i have an 05 revup 6mt and i love it i bought it with 99k on the ticker since then i pt another 2k on it and i absolutely love it. my wife just recently chose a hemi charger for christmas and i still love my G more than that monster of a 5.7, the only thing i did not like about my ride was the crappy bose system and the wheat interior so i changed them lol, and with proper maintenance and just plain taking care of it it will last you a good deal of time.

 

Welcome to the G community. You should choose that sedan that your looking at. These are some awesome cars and very fun to drive. You going to be doing any projects to your car when you get it? N/e ways, the G35 is very reliable as long as you do your normal maintenance. can't wait to see pix of your new ride when you get it.

 

The drivetrain is pretty solid, especially if your getting the auto. Only thing that tends to go bad are small things like the door actuators and some times the bose cd player breaks. The door actuators can be fix for $30 and the cd player for around $200.

If your going to pay for a car for awhile, you might as well drive something you like.

 

She is getting a sedan not a coupe. She wont have that problem

 

i actually came from a grand am as well... i had a 01 Grand Am GT1 coupe fully loaded and before that i had a SE...getting my G35 (coupe) on the other hand was awesome, G35 is so much better hands down and lots of fun!!! good luck
