Lightbulb How long did it take you to do your clutch?

Like the title says , How long ? I started mine at 1 pm yesterday and i got to the point where all i have to do is finish getting the starter off and then pulling the transmission took untill 7 pm to get to that point but i had help from some one else.

Also how did you go about getting to the 2 Bell Housing bolts on the top of the transmission ? I took the intake penlum off .

id say it took me about 6-7 steady hours by myself in my home garage on jack stands. the removal of your plenum was definitely unnecessary. is your tranny already tilted down? because if its jacked up in normal position you can remove the top 3 bell housing bolts from the top without removing anything (unless you have really thick forearms that is). all the other bell housing bolts can be accessed pretty easily from underneath. the most difficult bolts are the two right above the starter.

Hmm idk i had to pretty much almost knock the car off of the jack stands putting so much weight on the breaker bar for every bolt ... I got them all out now i just need to find out how to get the tranny off of the engine its not budging... Also you said 6-7 hours thats crazy its been like 3 days for me and one day was just getting a stripped bolt out. FML

What did you use to jack the tranny back up and put it back on the engine ?

I had to buy a transmission jack for reinstallation. about 80 bucks from harbor freight. yeah i did my whole 5AT to 6MT transmission swap in about 3 days with a friend so i already had experience with it going in again for the clutch change. if all the bolts are out, support the tranny with jack, disconnect crossmember, then lower the tranny pretty much as much as it will go then you should be able to pull it off from that point
