I used film on mine and two years running they're always get mistaken for paint. Usually finding a good tint shop, they can do a great job completely wrinkle free. Best part is you can just remove it if you want to sell the car or are just simply over the look. Like in my case now I might remove it since I'm liking the red lately but if I don't like it then I'll just paint it since I don't plan to sell the car anytime soon.

^^ I first took 1000 grit sandpaper and wetsanded the tail lights prepping for the NiteShade. I put on two VERY light layers on, and let it dry for an hour and then applied a gloss clear coat. After letting them sit for 24 hours I then took 2000 (use 1000 if your lights are older and have less gloss) grit sandpaper and wetsanded the tails (gave them a very dull but smooth finish to remove the imperfections). After I used a polishing compound and buffed them out. I have a write up on myg37.com. Here is a link:

Couple final questions about the overlays before I possibly place my order.

Do I need to buy all the application tools they are selling on their site? or are there cheaper alternatives? (ie. application solution, etc)

Also, on the list of different tint shades, there is dark smoke, and there is blackoute (static cling) what is the difference between these two?

And lastly, what is it about GT-R overlays that won't get me in trouble for having them on? Like Gary said (if I understood correctly)

That is correct about the GTR style and staying out of trouble with the five 0- and personally I would only get the GTR style if you have an OB car, any other color and there is just too much going on in the rear... I have seen the overlays in person and they look pretty sharp!!

Gtr style leave 2 red circles on each tail untinted. Leaving the brake lights and turn signals completely untinted

I have some Blue Bat overlays brand new that I never got around to installing on my car. IMO they look the best on OB, not a full smoke. PM me if youre interested.

Here is what they would look like: http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y42...nt=tgtr064.jpg
