Best option for tinting tail lights

If you're one of those who are gonna flame me for doing this, I kindly ask to save the comments. For those who have done it, what did you do, and in your opinion what do you think the best option is? I looked at the Rvinyl film which right now is top, and posted a thread about it earlier. Is spraying it better? Lot's of questions! lol any help/advice is appreciated.

Film is probably the best, cause you can easily take it off once you get tired of it. If applied correctly you won't be able to tell the difference compared to spray paint. I used spray paint on mine, got a ticket because of it, couldn't take of the paint, so I had to buy new ones.

That's what I was thinking.

How's the application for the film? The Rvinyl site is offering me to buy an application solution and a couple other things extra, but are those necessary? or are there cheaper or even free (water in a spray bottle) alternatives?

and how do films hold in weather? (rain, etc) they stay on good?

When I bought my car it had tinted film on the tail lights. Wasn't my thing so as soon as I got the car I just peeled them off no problem so I would suggest that. Although from what I've read you can get the spray off too with I think gasoline and a little elbow grease

I was considering tint overlays but looking at a couple things can remove VHT night shades, I may go that route.

I think I am going to go with the overlays for now, seeing as it's the first time I'm doing anything to my car. If the overlays don't work out, or I decide night shades will be better, I will go that route when the time comes.

Blue Bat GT-R overlays are the way to go. By using the GT-R overlays you won't get a ticket for having your tails tinted....it is illegal in most states!
