Anybody ever have a similar problem?
Just curious if your ballast still works and if so, where you got it? I have the same issue. Thanks for any help you can provide.

There are many places (like online junkyards) that sell these types of parts on eBay for cheap. I got my replacement ballast for $63 dollars on eBay. They usually have a steady supply too. Always check ebay and amazon.

Does anyone have a part number to reference? 2 choices: just he ballast; ballast and igniter (with cable) should the igniter be replaced as well? Had mine go out on me last week, already had one cop give me hassle for only having 1 headlight.

Swap your ballasts from left to right, then igniters left to right if necessary. If the problem follows the part, replace the bad part. If it stays on that side, check the bulb or wiring.

I bought mine here....http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-NISS...id%3D100102%26

I'm not sure whether I needed the whole thing, but at $70 vs $546 from the dealer, I really didn't care. Note, you have to remove the front bumper, so may want to do both while you have it apart. I have turned my headlight switch off of Auto because I garage my car and my mechanic said that might be wearing out the hardware (always cycling the lights on at crank up). Good luck....

Your mechanic is right, the ballast has a limited life in such I would never recommend using auto lights.

watch a video on replacing front bumper and thats how to get access, 10 mm socket is all u need and maybe an extension, 3 bolts though, make sure u have security torque bits too ( the torques with the hole in the middle) the bolts the hold the balast are torque with security holes

that way works too, i guess if u dont mind the tight squeeze, the splash shield will just be annoying bc those bolts are more than likely all rusted

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Guys don't make this harder than it is. Just jack up the front of the car and the ballasts are accessible under the lights by removing the undercover IIRC. You do not have to take off the bumper or mess with it at all.
