Re: AWD and Convertible confirmed!

Yes, I also heard that the sky is falling from an Infiniti dealer also. From experiance, some of us tend not to trust the dealers info. I seen it many times where the dealer must avoid saying "I don't know" about anything. As for the AWD G35, yes it's already out in Japan for the sedan and will hit the state side soon. As for an AWD coupe, I would like to see hard proof for that one and not just words from a dealer trying to sell something.

Also for a convertible G35 coupe, I would like to see that in writing also. We all knew that the 350Z was coming out with a convertible since it would be simple with only 2 seats. I would like to see how they would do it to the G35C and keep trunk space at the same time.

But with the right amount of R&D and $$$ anything is possible.

Keep on the look out! =)

yes, do not trust the dealer/salesman.
One of the salesman at my dealer said that a supercharger already came out a few months ago and they were gonna install it at the dealership for 70HP gain,,,bunch of bologny

Yes, it sounds all nice and dandy but he has no way of knowig any more than you about this.

If anything was confirmed it would be out all over the internet in 5 seconds flat. It is not. So that makes me tend to believe that someone told him that and he took it as fact so he passed it on to you.

I worked at a Dealership for a while.... 99% of them are morons when it comes to cars.

Maybe he heard it from a salesman.

It's not "confirmed" until Infiniti issues a press release, which they haven't.

I guess this year Audi might actually add the quatro and a little more HP? And Nissan is going to try to counter this by marketing the convertable G35coupe?

I guess the FWD A4 cabriolet didn't do too good. I've only seen 2 of them since December and only in December.

Re: AWD and Convertible confirmed!

I thought the A4 was RWD. Well maybe infiniti wants to have a car that can compete to the 3 conv. and the A4 conv.

Re: AWD and Convertible confirmed!

a convertible coupe is not very pratical. It would not only bring teh price up to 35+ grand for the base model. THis would make the car basicaly 40 grand car with a few packagess. THat is not what this car was ment for. You would also have to modify the car to much. From infiniti's point of view it makes no scence. If you want a covertible coupe then just get the 350z convertible it will be the same thing basicaly.

Re: AWD and Convertible confirmed!

Audi's come in Fronttrak (FWD) or quattro (full time AWD), they have no RWD cars.

The A4 Cabriolet is currently Fronttrak only but in another year it will be available with quattro.

Re: AWD and Convertible confirmed!

Allright Allright Already, enough picking on the sales guys. MOST but not ALL salespeople will tell customers things just to make them happy and "wrongly" informed. Anyway, the G35 AWD Sedan should be out in the next few months. As far as a coupe is concerned, I havent heard a damn thing, or for a convertable for the matter. So whomever is talking about these issues is either getting wrong info from their management, or is just stupid for giving out the wrong info. Have fun with this one from an Infiniti Saleman.

Re: AWD and Convertible confirmed!

There isn't even talk about an AWD sedan! I love all the rumors! The only reason that there is space in the undercarriage for a transfer case is because the platform is shared by the FX35/45. The whole basis of the Nissan Revival Plan was to have shared platforms i.e. Altima/Murano & G35/FX. I wouldn't hesitate to think that they had the FX design already down when they produced the chasis for the G35. Now if you really want to talk rumors, when is the new GT-R going to be here & will it be a Nissan or an Infiniti?
