Wheel Weight and Performance (looking for prior experiences!)

I know this has been brought up many times, but going back through the threadhistory there are lots of mixed results. People bring in all kinds of physics equations, personal history and other factors when talking about their decisions but they are so few and far between I dont know what to really believe.

At the end of the day I want to hear from those who have had personal experience. I am thinking about going from my stock 18's, to 19 or 20, cast wheels. I know this will bring up the weight and slow down my car to some degree, but I want to hear from those who have done something similar whether you felt a difference. I am not planning on tracking or racing my car at all. I do drive agressively but not head and shoulders over anything you would normally see on the street. Will I feel a difference driving the car? Does it make a noticable difference in stopping/acceleration/turning? Please let me know! I dont care if it adds .1 sec to my 0-60 time as long as it doesnt feel like the car is driving through cement.

Please keep all comments about "just go buy work or volk or [insert name brand 3 piece forged wheels here] away, I cant afford them currently. I need to replace all the tires on my 18's since they are near bald, and so I would like to put that $$ towards new wheels and tires since I am planning to do so anyway instead of on wheels I plan to get rid of.

Thanks

I went from 18's to light weight 18 in wider wheels. Wed sports sa55m. The difference is night and day in traction. Comfort is also increased as there is more rubber to absorb the road. And I lost about 4-5 pounds per corner of rotational weight so that helps tons as well. Overall car is more composed at about 130mph then it was before.

I went from my OE 18" wheels to a set of Volk 18" then a year later bought a set of 19" Volks. Didn't notice a difference between any of them with the exception of the last set having a shorter sidewall which stiffens the ride slightly....Gary

You'll feel a difference...... in your wallet.

I don't think it really makes a big difference for daily driving. Driver skill is more of a limiting factor than just some lighter wheels.
