All out with a new tranny or just repair it

My 04 6MT coupe has a 5th gear synchro problem, I live just north of the border in Canada and was quoted $1700 for a repair. Im deciding whether or not I should just buy a new CD009 transmission for $1800 from http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=3342 and does anyone know how much labour would be on the replacement or should I just repair the synchro? Is there a chance the problem could happen again if i just get it fixed?

I'd pay a little extra and have new. A repaired one can cause quite the headache if not put back together correctly.
