New G35 owner with questions

I just bought me an 05 G35 and love everything about it but one thing. No aux port! Is there something that I can buy so I could use an aux port to connect to an ipod or phone? Haven't gone to best buy to check out what they have. Any help would be nice thx

I like to say your SOL. Can't you get an ipod that feeds off the radio and just turn it to that station?

Check out the USA Spec PA15-Infi or PA15-NIS. If you're wired for Sat radio go with the Infi, if not, go for the NIS. I have the Infi in mine and it works great and was easy to install.

^ +1 to that. I have the PA15-Infi, and it works great. Screw an Aux port when you can charge your iPod, and use the steering wheel controls to skip tracks using the PA15.

I have the I Simple from Apple installed in my car. Works fine but is limited in options due to old technology vs. the newer technology of the Apple product. As long as it plays my podcasts I am happy.

Not to go against the grain but I chose the NIS for several reasons. Yes, it doesn't charge you iwhatever, but you can plug in anything. Also Apple abandons old products, and by old, I mean 2-3 years. I have a several ipods and my nice ipod receiver dock (Marantz) is no longer supported - meaning it works on my 5 year old nano, but doesn't even recognize my 1 year old touch. Bet your sweet *** Apple will change the interface plug so you have to buy new accessories. I'm sure you'll be happy with either, but don't be surprised if in a few years the infi doesn't work with newer Apple stuff. Sorry /rant

I LOVE the radio transmitter garbage. $15 bucks, plugs right in, hides and plugs into the aux 12v port inside the arm rest console, and sounds just as clean as a CD. I didn't turn a single screw, or pop a single panel to listen to uninterrupted clear Pandora for the 20hr trip home from DC in December. Whoever says this sounds like garbage maybe hasn't heard one for several years??? Maybe works in a recording studio and has very high standards??? Maybe can't stand the scratchiness of CD's???

I couldn't agree more. My fm transmitter has been perfect for about a year now. I love it. I have mine plugged into the cigarette lighter port and it has an adjustable arm so it's very convenient to change stations on pandora or songs on my iPhone.

Something to pursue? I have one. I've been lazy and haven't brought it up to the center console yet. There's no way to recharge on older iPod, but it's fine for this purpose and I'm not buying another. I take it out and recharge it every couple of days.

Big main thread dating back to when I first bought this.

Previous owner had an aux cable installed. I may take sometime to pull it out and see what it is.
