Long Tube Headers vs Equal Length with ART Pipes
Long Tube Headers vs Equal Length with ART Pipes
I want to go with one of the 2 scenarios below which will flow into my Fuji exhaust:
1.) Long tube headers (PPE, SG, etc.) with Motordyne XYZ Y-Pipe with single cat.
2.) Stillen/Nismo equal length headers with Motordyne ART pipes to Motordyne XYZ Y-Pipe with single cat.
Does anyone have any dyno comparisons of long tube vs. shorty headers or what above scenario to go with? Looking for the most "usable" HP/TQ.
Thanks in advance!

I may just sell off the Berk's for ART pipes then go with the XYZ pipe with cat attachment. Do you or anyone know if that setup would pass CA emissions? I don't want to swap the ART pipes out every 2 years for smog checks.
That is the ideal setup in my eyes to run with the XYZ Y-Pipe with HFC attachment but if the single cat won't pass CA emissions you're out of luck. I would love to get an answer on this...
I heard back from Tony at Motordyne and he said the single cat in the XYZ should pass the sniffer. Now all we need to know is what setup yields the most HP/TQ...long tubes or headers with ART pipes???

I did thanks...also did some research on the PPE LTH's and some are saying 30+ HP which is huge. I'm a bit scared to run LTH's as you can't go back to stock cats so if you don't pass the sniffer or it gets a visual you're screwed or should I say out another $800 for the header uninstall. May just go Stillen headers with ART pipes with XYZ with single cat and call it a day. That setup should give the most output and give me more smog options just in case. Thoughts? Want to keep my Fuji to keep things as quiet as possible.
What are you currently running with your Stillen headers? Did the Stillen headers increase the noise level at all or any other weird sounds including drone or rasp? Notice any power or MPG gains?
I have a thread review of the SGM compared to the TomeiV2+ART pipes. I am sure you'll be able to find it. I also run the XYZ pipe and recently i've done some dyno runs with and without the CAT module 10/5 loss in power.
No doubt that a good set of LTH will give you more power overall but they are more expensive.

Still on going...
I'm actually in Singapore right now but I called Sam up this morning and he said that things are moving along. 3/4 of the bracketry are machined a completion date of mid march might be possible. Keeping my fingers crossed.
