Driving tips
Recently bought an 03 fully loaded g35 coupe with 66,*** miles on it. It needed tires so I got V12 evo's 255/35/19 Fronts and 275/40/19's rear. The suspension could be replaced since it still is stock.
My question is, can someone give me some tips to drive this thing? I came from an 03 Evo @ 390whp and could thrash that thing on the streets, but the g35 I seem to really have to baby it around. I took a corner last night in 2nd, braked before the turn, hit the apex, and then hit the gas out and nearly spun out and crashed
. I might have gotten on the throttle just a tad too soon, but still nearly spinning out with fresh tires around 3-4k rpm in 2nd seems strange. Just as a side note, I enjoy driving without traction control engaged. Any tips would be appreciated.

yeah the G likes to shake its a** but with a little finesse they are really easy to control (my opinion). There really aren't tips to driving, just get to know the car.
Also, keep in mind even though you shut the VDC off, if the computer thinks the car is out of control it will kick the VDC on and try to correct itself. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it thows you off if you're already mid-correction. There are ways to completely disable the VDC, use the search here and you will find threads about it. Living in MN I love my VDC, it's saved the day quite a few times.

My friend has a modded evo 8 and i drove it around a few times and it is probably the easiest car i ever driven. Your probably use too the awd drive grip and yaw control from the sensors.
Too be honest i don't think the g35 is as agile of a car around the corner as evo, i think its little bit more fun to drive since its rwd but your not going to get the same kind of grip and exit speed as you did with your evo.
The car tends to want to turn better in the higher rpm range like 5k+. When you down shift, you kind of have to be a little bit more disciplined with the throttle. I noticed if you down shift and your in the 4k range and you throttle too quick, the tq from the engine will overwhelm the tires. Majority of the cars tq seems to come from the 3500-5k range.
The g35 likes to be tail happy, so better tires and sways would probably help or a little more throttle discipline. Anyways this is what i noticed from driving the car for the past year.

With that kinda mileage on your G the shocks aren't in the best shape for aggressive driving. You need to check the rest of the suspension too for worn parts. Adjustable sways/endlinks will be of extreme help once you've sorted out the rest of the suspension. What you're driving now is a RWD luxury coupe that needs to be on a diet, be careful....Gary

Thanks for all the advice. Yes the evo was very easy to drive, but I still find my FWD 2.8L vr6 Jetta @ 240 whp extremely easy to drive. I can just dive into corners with my dz101's and hold grip at pretty much any speed haha. Ill look into the perm disable of the VDC since I live in socal and don't really need traction control.
