Infiniti GT-R????
The contender for the NSX was also mentioned in this thread and this might be the car. Infiniti is supposed to reveal a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show March 6th. The Emerg-E uses an electric powertrain with an internal-combustion engine to turn a generator and extend the car's range. The powertrain is mounted midship, behind the driver and passenger seats. That layout helps with weight balance and improves the car's handling qualities, This is a CAD image.
That would be interesting, but the only competition if it was a 4 door would be the Panamera and the Aston Martin sedan.. can't remember the name.. They would certainly have to down tune it.. it wouldn't make sense for Nissan to up the power on a luxury version of the GT-R
nissan introduced it to compete against the bmw 328i in terms of pricing and leasing without having to down grade the g37 even though it costs probably the same to make a g25 engine vs a g37 engine.
i think if they were to do a super car it should be closer in philsophy with the acura nsx hybrid. Maybe make it a mid ship v6 twin turbo awd with two hybrid engines in the front KERS hybrid system.
Imagine the crazy quarter mile times with a GTR launch then a KERS speed boost. Nissan might as well tap into the Renult-Redbull alliance from F1 and make use of that technology.
