Your build can cost less than mine though. I show my car and engine bay so I had all the piping and intercooler polished, bought and polished the strafe 1-piece vortech intake pipe, had a custom gauge pod made for above the clock, gauges we're close to $700 and arent 100% neccessary, you can save some money by buying some used parts too.

You can look through my build for some info: https://g35driver.com/forums/forced-...ech-build.html
Cool.... im going to look at it

U can get professionally installed a Vortech V3 for around 6K with tune. I quoted it myself at a shop in SoCal. and the turbo would go for 10K. bt you can get a nice Momentum Turbo kit.

I would rather go with the SC less headaches and less $$$..

Get the coilovers with the kits and you may have some left for BBK. 6/4 Megans are for sale on a vendor here. Unless you want straight performance then take out that X02 and put a real exhaust and throw some engine mods.

and lets stop knocking the XO2 exhaust ..... last I remember it performed just as good if not better then HKS exhaust

Now Im getting the BC coils for sure ...... Im leaning toward MREV2, ARTpipes, tune and maybe nismo or ING front (have read ING is a pain to install and Strafe Nismo is 9/10 for fitment)

Still not 100% one way or another

I've been going through the same issues as you Bmore, unsure of what I want to get.

I have to disagree with you on the XO2 performing as well, if not as good as the HKS. Hell, I wouldn't even get a HKS. Motordyne ftw.

Anyway, since you're happy with your exhaust, we'll stop hounding you about it.. sorta. :P

I made a list of what I wanted, and I asked some friends and they also gave me the question of "Do you want "go" or "show""? These are what my lists were:

Show:

JDM tails ~400
Strafe trunk ~ 700+ painted (i think)
Nismo front ~ around the same as the strafe painted i think
BC coils ~ 1100
diffuser painted ~ 100

I put the coils under show because yes, they are performance also, but I'm happy with how my car drives with my H tech springs, and until i really want to go lower, or decide i want them, i can wait. but that's just me.

here's my go list:

Transgo ~300 (doesn't' apply to you since you have a 6MT)
paddle shift ~ 350 (again, doesn't apply)
tune ~ 670
Vortech ~ 4000 + all the extra crapola i need, so more like 6000+

or I can get my wheels for around 2700. but I just painted my OEM 18s, and they have brand new tires, so I'm holding off on that.

It's a tough decision, but our cars are good looking as hell, and IMO getting body kits, or whatever should come last. Which is why i decided to do my "go" list first. Also, I like the sleeper aspect .

If I had your money, I personally would get the ART pipes, the MREV, and then save for the Vortech, or turbo. You'll notice a big difference between the stock cats and the ART pipes. I'd be weary of them causing a lot of rasp with the XO2, but i'm honestly not sure, could go either way. I haven't read anything about people using XO2 with ARTs. So you get a good performance boost, + you're still close to the FI. Or do the ART, MREV, and tune. I haven't done my tune yet, but after my transgo and paddle shift install, i'm going to do it, then save for my FI.

Also, MD front and rear sway bars... HUGE difference in handling, there's honestly no comparison. My front is set and med, and my rear is stiff. It was awesome.

EDIT: Crap.. forgot about 06 lights.. i'd do those too... the performance difference is night and day. Also, you're not far from me, so if you want, I can do a clear lens swap on them, and you'll get a beautiful sharp cutoff with plenty of color, and more useable light.. but thats up to you. It can also be painted too.

So IMO:

06 headlights
MD sways
ART
MREV
Tune

Or if you can go FI soon, I'd hold off on the tune, no real point if you could make the money up in a couple months.

Also, if you use 6000k bulbs, you're losing light compared to the OEM 4300k. 4300k gives you the most useable light. It's what comes stock in 99% of cars with HIDs. Also, the aftermarket 6000k bulbs are crap. All of them. They all have different arc points than the OEM bulbs because of build quality. The glass is much thinner, and they age much much quicker. so if you go 06, keep the stock 4300k 85122+ bulbs that the 06 lights come with. They'll SLIGHTLY color shift to almost white, but with a hint of yellow for optimal visibility. The color you see from cars with HIDs come from the cutoff of the projector (which is what I can do with the clear lens swap). The 06 lights come with faint baby blue color, but a clear lens makes it much thicker and better. Alternatively, if you like doing things yourself, you can do it by yourself. Or I can walk you through it. It's easy and can be done within a day.

Oh yeah.... Im goin to get some 06 headlights

I painted the housing of my 05 headlights BUT I cant seem to get rid of the haze no matter what I try. So yeah 06 headlights ara a must.

Also I think Im goin:

BC coils
MREV2
ART pipes (maybe testpipes depending on the final budget)
06 headlights
TUNE

Still seeing what else I might be able SQUEEZE out of this budget (might sell my wheels, hmmmmm)

if you're not going to get ART pipes, stick with your stock cats. normal test pipes sound like ***. and your X02 Isn't going to make it any better lol.

the list sounds good to me. once you've got those, you've done your essential bolt ons, and you can get a tune. after i did some research last night, going FI with a vortech isn't as bad as i thought, but to get the most out of it, all the breather mods will benefit.

i personally like the look of your wheels, 20" are a bit big for me i think, but when i'm back in april, if you've still got them and are thinking about selling them, want to meet up so i could see them in person?
