Airbag light on, right after seat repair?!?!

I took the car in last week to replace the seat track since it was making a lot of noise. After a few hours I had dropped the car, I got a car from the service advisor that the car's airbag light is on! I told him that's strange since it never came on when I was driving it. he said the light is on now, it's probably the airbag module, he has checked and it's NOT covered under my extended warranty and it costs like $600! I told him that's unacceptable. He said he's going to reset it and see what happens. The light went away and I picked up the car but it came back on today!!
To replace the tracks the had to move the whole seat. Here are my questions:
1. Is it possible they did something that actually caused the light to come on, like the seat sensor?
2. Is it really not covered under extended warranty? My warranty is supposed to be like the original car warranty. If that's the case, that would be outrageous! It's not a " normal tear and wear"! The car has not been to any accidents. My old Honda civic years ago had that light on and they fixed it although it was out of warranty!
Thanks

I had to take my seat out once to do some work on it. The same situation happened to me and I followed this DIY reset procedure. Light near came back on

Thanks so much for the response. They already reset it once at the dealership and it's back on again! I can try the DIY but I am concerned it just going to come back on later.
Honestly, I think that they did something during the seat-track replacement that triggered this problem but tried to hide it from me and shift the responsibility to me. I just don't know how to prove it. Like I said, it never had this problem before and after a few hours the car went in for seat-track replacement( which I understand involves removing the whole seat) the problem is reported to me by the SA!
