Were there specific color combos for the coupes?

Hey guys,

First time poster, recent lurker here so forgive me if I didn't search properly. I couldn't get a definitive answer with my search entries.

Looking to get a '05-'07 G35 6MT coupe soon so I'm doing as much research as I can so I can get the perfect one for me. I decided I wanted to go with either Black on Black or White on Black. However, I haven't seen many (if any) white coupes with a black interior.

Were there specific color combos for these cars? I found a white coupe that I'd like to purchase but it has a gray interior. I know I should be able to swap in black seats if I really wanted to.

I guess my real question is, if there were in fact specific color combos for these cars, was White on Black one of them? If it was I'm going to try to keep searching a little longer, if not I'll get a white on gray and swap seats later on.

Thanks and hope to be one of you soon enough

I don't know about 03-05, but I do know that in 06, white with black interior was not available as an option. However, I am pretty sure they added it as a color combination in 07. I suspect you will only find an IP (white) coupe with black interior as an 07.

Black interior was only offered in 03-04 with IP paint, it was reintroduced in 2008 on the G37S

ah, so it looks like I'll have to retrofit some seats then. Should look nice when done hopefully.

I say get the seats redone to what you like. Black seats w/ ip color would look clean

If you find a very clean '06/'07 IP (white) coupe chances are it will have tan interior. If you're considering an interior change you can't just stop with the seats! Think about how fugly the interior would look, black seats and everything else is tan....carpet, door panels and steering wheel.

You must not have read what I wrote before. I'm planning on a gray interior, this way the trim peices and dash are black instead of brown and tan. Then seats, panels, and carpet are all i'll need instead of the dash too. But I guess I should have been more specific as well and say that I'd be swapping more than just the seats.

That still won't look right. There is quite a substantial difference between the "Black" interior and the other offered choices. I just this past week picked up the original Dealer Brochure for my 2005 and it has all available color/trim options available on one page to compare. In my opinion you'd be better off just buying the G you want and then budgeting for a re-spray. At least then the interior would be what you want, and the exterior would be nice and new.

Do you have a link to a brochure online by any chance or should I just google the different cars? If it's too much of a pain, I'll probably just go black on black and use the money that I was going to use for cosmetics to mod it a little.
