Using Extended Lug with stock bolts?

Hey All,

I am getting some new wheels, and the previous owner had some extended rays lugnuts he is giving me with the wheels. He used them as he used to run spacers (on a different set of wheels) and therefore had extended lugs nuts for these wheels. As much as I dont like how they look (extended and all), is it safe to use them with my stock bolts? I would rather not have to buy another set as they are somewhat expensive. Also if anybody wants to trade for some normal rays lugs let me know!

Thanks

They're more than fine on stock lugs. - I don't see what you're worrying about.

If your new wheels come with lugs use them rather than the OE lugs. New wheels, (aftermarket?) make sure you use centering rings or you'll never get a decent balance!

The wheels are coming from another member, so they already have tires mounted and are balanced. He is giving me some extended rays lug nuts, but I have the stock bolts so I was just curious if there were any negatives to having extended lugnuts with the stock oem bolts (besides it looking kinda funny)

I think Gary was talking about hubcentric rings. Most aftermarket wheels have a bigger hub opening than the G and the rings keep the wheel firmly in place.
