escutcheon cover on driver side install
I drive an 04 coupe and my escutcheon cover fell off. I have ordered the replacement part but I am having trouble installing it. Any ideas on how to get this thing on?

There are gromets on the side of the door in the same area as the door handles remove those and you have acess to where you can screw the escutcheon back on!

Most people just steal the cover just like some D&$kless p.o.s did to me the other day. Just got home and the part was at my door. First thing I did was snap that baby back on.

The piece will not clip on. I also do not see the gromets that are described above. Do you know if there is a video or pics on how to do this?

It's a pain in the a$$ u gotta keep messing with it.. when u think its on its not.. pull hard on it to make sure it stays on..

^ no gromets..you should see little plastic tabs on the back. Use a small flat head screwdriver and gently pry open the tabs just a little wider. It should then snap into place.

I see a large tab on the front that goes closest to the door and what appears to be two hooks on the back end that appear to latch on? Which one needs to be pryed open?

pry all of them a little wider. They are too tight straight outta the box (if you try to put it on, all you will do is crush the tabs down).

can you install the escutcheon piece on a g35 coupe?? someone just stole my actual keyhole cover last week and i have been looking for this piece? where can you get it?

EBay has them.. with and without the hole for the lock.. if u don't use the key to open your door I suggest u get the one without the hole.. it looks much cleaner..
