Lol, well it doesn't apply to the ones who bought it as a 2nd or 3rd car for that price.

how much HP are you making? i forgot who it is but someone on the forum is running a NA G with a bunch of bolt-ons, tune, 3.5 FD, and transgo and runninf 13.1-13.2 which is about the same as a C5. TT should be able to dominate one unless your only making like 380ish HP.

he has one of the fastest vq's in SoCal, different tracks equal different times. to compare runs in different locations is worthless.

I'm currently around 450 at the wheels. "dssykline" is the member you're referring to. As stated above, location is a major factor with overall track times. When he had a single turbo setup on his car pushing 400+whp he ran a 13.0 at the track here in Socal.

Also keep in mind an 06 C5 only ways 31??lbs, which is at least 400lbs lighter then my car.

but youve got a greater power to weight ratio than the c5 still so you should be able to take it. Have you done any weight reductions? 80 pounds saved by replacing seats with sparco milano's

I also have a better power/weight ratio then the V8 M3's yet those things aren't much slower either. Even though I have more peak power, the power curve on the LS motor is much better. Plus the automatic tranny isn't helping any. I haven't really done any major weight reduction. My goal with the car is to keep all of the luxuries it came with and just make it faster, not looking for an all out track car.

I have considered that before and I still follow those threads, but I'm probably just going to rebuild the transmission and see how that works.

Does Stillen's automatic transmission upgrade do anything that you know of? How much is an auto transmission rebuild?

I've seen many bad experiences with Stillen's, Transgo seems to be the best on the market. A built tranny costs around $3.5K - 4.5K.

A built auto will be better in the end any way... They handle more power, are easier on the rest of the drivetrain and are more consistant

Damn, we just took over the OPs thread! Lol. But yea, built tranny is the only way to go if you want that real reliable power. Its gonna take me like 3-4yrs from start to finish to complete my project G. Hopefully we're still arnd after 12/2012... I shld just be getting back from deployment.
