Those rims are forged. I believe they are the only PIAA rims that are forged. I believe it says something to that effect on PIAA's website.

Learn something new every day. Glad I chose not to get those than. If you like the look of those rims, go with the Work Rims, those were based off of.

I have the Work Meister S2R. Looks the same, except the two pieces are welded instead of bolted. Or you can get the Work VS-SS rims, which are two piece bolted. Both of these rims are forged. I always wondered why my rims were lighter than the PIAA ones. I guess now I know why...

Work Rims

Here's a picture of my car with the Work Meister S2R

 

The only reason the Works are ~2 pounds per wheel lighter is because they are 18's... Work Meister S2R Check the weight on the 18x9.0 = 23 lbs and 18X10.0 = 24lbs.

 

The wheel weights for the Work rims on that site are all wrong. It shows the Work Emotion Forged as being 20 pounds. That's heavier than the Emotion CR KAI cast wheel, which is 19 pounds, which is supposed to be the cast replica of the Forged version. The Emotion Forged is actually 17 or 18 pounds. When I bought my wheel, they told me the Meister S2R in 9.5" was actually 19.5 pounds, and the 8.5" was 18.5 pounds. I had it shipped with tires, so I didn't bother weighing them myself.

The above mentioned site, has the same numbers as that one site that has a compilation of all different wheels. That site looks fishy, as it lists for example, the 17x7.0" as being heavier than the 17x7.5"?

But whatever, no reason to nitpick. Still lighter than stock. I was just surprised that the PIAA Super Rozza was cast. I could've sworn there was a thread on this very topic about 6 months ago, where we all concluded it was forged. I could've sworn it even said it was forged on PIAA's website. I wonder if they made a mistake and recently corrected the web site. Because damn, that's pretty expensive for a cast wheel....
